 Big 10 player multiplayer game

Thought I'd make an official thread just to see who's interested in playing a big multiplayer game once the mods complete. Who wants to side with who and will it be on Rebellion or Diplomacy. Also what scenario or map we would be playing on and in what context (namely custom made maps in the Mass Effect Universe).

On a map including our solar system and all its connections, so as to simulate the final battle over earth as it should have been - without space magic. The Reapers would most likely have won, but still.

But I think for the very first match, we should all play as the Council/Cerberus and go up against a Reaper AI.

I choose reapers because the geth, also im a sucker for the "evil" faction and i consider cerberus to be very boring, no offense but choosing between a galactic alliance of races, an ancient and almost unstoppable harvester fleet or rogue humans, well...

Yeah I never understood why Cerberus was an entire faction but I'm sure the devs have their reasons and the ships do look very nice.

Cause everyone wants to play the racist, freaks, totalatarian, controlists once in a while. And who doesn't enjoy whooping some Cerberus ass (smacking Miranda's ass) oops I mean defeating Cerberus.

In all seriousness its to create a third party who can fill in the annoying third party while the two major factions battle it out and in the mean time might actually gain the upper hand. It creates some much needed variation and Cerberus was the only faction which could have enough manpower and resources to achieve it savvy. :D

I'd have thunk the geth would've been a better idea. They have more resources, more err... manpower, differ more visually than the current factions and already come in two sub-factions, almost perfect for rebellion. Cerberus could've been the renegade sub-faction of the Council.

I geuss I'm fine with Cerberus being a faction. There always needs to be one faction that the player "dislikes" (see intense hate), to give them drive, if you know what I mean.

I share your first sentiment though (I'm not specifying which ;)).

Okay, maybe we should get back on topic before I have to ban myself.

Perhaps. There are also multiple perhaps more severe and important reasons as to why the Get are with the Reapers.

What about scenarios. Which type of scenarios would you people want to play on. Wolfrham has already said he'd like to do the retaking of Earth, however its a small map with huge predetermined fleets.

This is my thoughts: A huge Reaper fleet will start on say for example a "Dead Asteroid", consisting of huge amounts of Reaper ships, probably a few hundered just before the Alpha Relay.

Council members start on their respective homeworlds and the worlds colonised throughout the galaxy with pre-placed structures on a number of worlds and large fleets (Asari, Turian, Human, Salarian, etc.).

Batarian occupied space is filled with militia planets and moderate sized fleets to act as a buffer zone while the rest of the players assert their defences in preparation for the Reaper onslaught.

A Cerberus faction is also in existence with perhaps a few planets occupied spread throughout the cosmos. (All starting locations, types of planets, names of planets for every point in the galaxy and their location will be accurate made by myself or someone else.)

Perhaps another Reaper faction consisting of a large Geth fleet around their own territory. Also another Council player could be in control of several asteroids and a gargatuan Quarian fleet. (Even though the Quarian ships are only colonising vessles they will still have arnaments capable of defending themselves).

Several pirate bases will be spread around the galaxy representing the merc factions. Other uncolonised planets will either have no militia (according to the codex as they are unexplored, inhospitable etc.) or have militia presence such as the Terminus systems.

Any fleets that your faction starts of in possession is only temporary and you can play the game however you want. No need to just build Turian ships as your capital is Palaven (of course you can if you want to).

This is one major game I would love to play with 10 people and hopefully continue over several gaming sessions. Due to the size of the map and numbers of ships, it would be best if everyone set their preferences really low or have great specs for their comp. That way, any player can join and it will hopefully still run smoothly.

I would prefer to play this scenario on Rebellion and have everyone play as a faction so no AI if it can be helped. Diplomacy would not be disabled either to replicate indoctriantion, corporation greed etc. Players can win as allies, start off with moderate to high resources for factions. Someone will be in control of the Citadel.

Don't know if I've fogotten something. What do you guys think? What would you like to add, change, adjust, modify, rectify, etc.
