As I near the end of my schooling career, my thoughts and interests are slowly being turned towards the mod and one of the major sectors of my work involved in it. Research trees.
So the question to the community is what unique research ideas should be in the research trees for the specific factions?
I think asking the community on this matter would bring a great deal of diversity to thought of creation and allow for an influx of new ideas and thoughts that could possibly be ending up in the mods final release.
I know there must be many things that you guys as a whole would like to see in the mod, especially research-able features but just keep in mind that the ideas must be code-able into the mod itself, meaning; they must be doable.
To keep this question thread readable, accessible and user friendly for us mod team and you faithful followers I would just like to ask that several requests be kept in mind (this is just requests, you don't actually have to follow them as an indoctrinated horde but it would help keep things in order.)
1. That you specify which section of the research tree your idea is for; i.e, civilisation, military, defence, diplomacy etc. and if you could be even more specific, that would be even better such as; "the culture spread section of the civilisation research tree". 2. That we keep on topic.

Like my good buddy Reaper_Armada said, we're working on the Tech tree together. That being said, don't hesitate to contact I, The Mighty SHOCKMATTER, as well. Any idea will be beneficial to us. And as I pointed out in one of my posts somewhere, some lucky fellow gave me the Shadow Broker ship idea that I greatly enjoy. Your ideas are what will make up the tech tree! (minus a few upgrades and ideas from ourselves.)

Tech tree ideas? Lets see...I know in regular sins, you can upgrade your planet bombardment attacks. Instead of researching better planet assault weapons for the citadel races. How about something along the lines of Krogan/Mercs negotiations for a stronger attack force when going after a planet?

well, not sure if this would be a great idea, but in the Leviathan thread I started there was a drop of the orb artifacts from the DLC, now as the shadowbroker ship is still up in the air I thought about something of the oposite for the citadel.
why not add a Tier 3 subject which dabbles in Indoctrination Resistance? ultimately I'm assuming its just gonna be a culture resistor, but the very last one on its tier line should be extremely expensive and can stop any culture from spreading aside from its own, while at the same time kicking in effect "Stand Strong Stand Together" which brings all planets under the owned planets within culture to 110% loyalty.
there was also my ditty about the Human Reaper concept, having it either as a cheap expendable capital ship which is designed to do some damage and still be balanced.
Having the Human Reaper as both civilian and military research structures.
or having the Human Reaper as a capital ship with the ability to tote around the research structure capacity using the Vasari Research.
There is also having the research option to increase researching speed, in a form of Prothean Data Archive research. this would be thought to go to the council races.
I am speculating here but since Bombing planets would be redundant, I think bombing would be replaced with invading, in that sense I belive the reapers should get a research option to increase the "Invasion" by getting Rachni Forces, they wont have to be a unit and they fit well as invading forces.
In that sense I think it would also make sense to include the Reaper Forces invasion research, which would start with basic indoctrination, then Dragons Teeth, and full converison.
As for cerberus Im not certain weather or not to add another thread's worth of information as for my opinon here, as it is truely in depth and will take a long time.
Hope I added enough Ideas to get gears rolling.

I added the idea of ground forces a while back for the citadel races. I've been brainstorming for the research tree since I woke up this morning. Came up with some pretty good stuff.

Okay, some frigates and cruisers have to be researched right? I'm not sure if the SR1 and 2 will be in the mod. But lets say at...One military research structure, you can unlock the SR1 with Turian/Human research. Then at 3 stations, Get the SR2 by reverse engineering the SR2 Normandy.

If i remember correctly, the SR-1 and SR-2 are going to be in the mod, the Council will get the Normandy, and be allowed to make SR-1's but not SR-2's, Cerberus would have the SR-2's.
If I also remember well on this part, the normandy would be a powerful powerful unit to have and only get 1 I belive the quote was "keep it save and alive"

For upgrading weapons, something along the lines of improving council race's weapons in general. Then at the higher up levels, reverse engineer Reaper weapons?

hmm, seeing as cerberus would have 2 sides, Pure Human, and Indoctrinated/repear tech...I would think having the pure human side would keep with the thanix spam and the indoctrinated would have better accuracy and kinetic barriers/stronger mass effect cores.

Sweet. For the Reaper tech Cerberus side, how about something along the lines of the IM gaining access to better Reaper technology with each passing leveling?

but what really needs to happen is Me finding someone who can work Particle Forge Like a god since I can never get the cloud firing effect right enough, nor can I make a decent Dreadnought main gun volley.
