New update: Dawn of the Reapers will only be released on Rebellion. Lord_Set has stated that it would take to much work and increase the time till the first release if it was to be released for diplomacy and rebellion.

You have a lot more freedom when it comes to modding the game that's for sure. Extra weapon slots, better graphics, more tech tree options, extra abilities etc.

If it was still for dip as well, it would probably take longer due to programming or something of the sort? Due to it being Rebellion only, the progress on it will be much fast I'm guessing. I honestly hope I see some of my ideas in the mod since I suggested quite a few

Modding Sins is hardly programming, but different expansions do have different syntax for their files. Since it's fastest to develop for one expansion, most mods complete their project for one expansion and then port to others. It means they won't have to go through and change every file to be compatible with a different expansion.

That's why I said "Programming or something" since I figured it had something to do with porting. But I honestly cannot wait to see the end product.

I've just come to accept that modders that work with source or configuration files are called coders.

I just call modders/coders wizards since they seem to use some sort of space magic to randomly turn useless things like Algebra and Geometry into giant monoliths of art.
Glad for the change to Rebellion though, honestly a much better version of SOASE to work with.
