Cerberus or council could have some type of researchable thing where you can see the gravity well and everything in a nearby planet due to spectres or the Illusive man.

Upgraded husks/marines to increase factions planet health and maybe bombardment damage.
Faked heat singnatures so you can make your fleet look bigger.
