What ships will be classified as a capital ships, such as those produced at the equivalent of a Capital Ship Factory?

Ships I think are Capital ships: - Sovereign class reapers
- Harbinger
- Quarian Live ship
- Turian dreadnought
- Asari dreadnoughts (not the Destiny Ascension)
- Cerburus dreadnoughts (I don't know any types)
- The Collecter ship
- Alliance dreadnought
- NOT the Normandy
Most of these can be seen on Moddb...

Aww, so my dreams of a 200 strong Reaper capital ship fleet will be unrealised? D: Those pesky Humans and their rules.

Okay maybe not 200, but I hope the mod team can increase the Cap-cap (Capital capacity) from 16 to at-least 24. When I play I always make my "Capital Fleet", 14 Capital ships and 1 Titan, and assign them the on numbers 1 to 9 (one for each type of ship and one as a whole) and then try to level them all up to 10. Then I hunt-down enemy Capital ships and Titans for fun and xp.

Will you make the carrier class ship in mod? Or probably my question should be: will you keep 4 class of capital ships ?

What about the Asari's Destiny Ascension? Is the ship going to be included?

I'm wondering about the Quarian liveships and how they're supposed to have mass accelerator cannons along their length. In mass effect 3 they talk of the cannon being almost the full length of the live ship, but in order for that to be possible it would have to be a rearward facing cannon as the front of the liveship (the big sphere) rotates, making it impossible for a cannon to be built through it. It is mentioned in Mass Effect 3, multiple times, that the mass accelerator cannon of the Quarian liveship must be massive/really long, I just can't find any of those quotes right now though as I don't remember who said it.
The only reference I can find is from the alliance news network: “The Migrant Fleet has always lived on the edge of criminality,” popular blogger Feyro Derlan said. “But adding an axial gun to a liveship that’s who-knows-how-many kilometers long? That’s not a cause for worry, that’s terror worth soiling your pants over.”
The "adding an axial gun to a liveship that’s who-knows-how-many kilometers long?" Implies that the cannon is definitely not broadside and also that it is multiple kilometers long. The length of a liveship is roughly 3 kilometers long, meaning the cannon could be up to 2km long, but it would have to be rear-facing.
what do you guys reckon?

Are the spheres on the liveships ever shown to spin in a certain direction? I did a bit of looking and I can't find reference to it.

you see them spin like that in the cutscenes of Priority Rannoch.

Blast, you're right then they'd have to be facing backwards. My thought was that if the axis of rotation was along the spine of the ship, instead of perpendicular to it, the barrel could be mounted along that axis.
Unless the sphere is more than a kilometer in diameter, then the accelerator can still be mounted along that axis and become a broadside weapon. Let me check and get back to you.
Edit/Update: Okay, after a little checking it looks as though the sphere is about a third of the total length of a liveship making it about one kilometer in diameter. While this doesn't quite fit the kilometers long description, it does make it possible for it to be broadside through the sphere's axis of rotation, a little sense as that makes. The gun is said to be axial but it's hard to tell if they mean the axis of the whole ship [which makes more sense] or the axis of the sphere.
Alternatively, it does make a bit more sense for the gun to be mounted facing the rear of the ship, since the liveships are the most precious ships in the Migrant Fleet they would want to get them away from direct combat as soon as possible, putting this weapon as more of a defensive option/sniping platform. They can orientate for the shot and leave without having to plot an escape vector.

The gun is said to be axial but it's hard to tell if they mean the axis of the whole ship [which makes more sense] or the axis of the sphere. That's not a bad idea at all. it would mean either the liveship has two 1km long broadsides or one 2km long rear facing mass accelerator cannon. Or both . Indeed, exactly what I was thinking ;D. A massive rear-facing cannon would provide quite an interesting gameplay mechanic.

On another note, does anyone have any ideas on the naming conventions for each factions capital ships?
The Alliance names their cruisers after cities, their dreadnoughts after mountains, and their carriers after famous persons/scientists.
The Turians seem to take a more British stance when naming their capitol ships with names like Indomitable for one of their dreadnoughts and Undaunted for one of their carriers.
Other than that there doesn't seem to be much to go on for everyone else. I did have a thought of naming Reapers after mythical sea monsters, but beyond that I'm drawing a blank.
Thoughts anyone?
