Don't want to start a new thread for this question and I don't know where else to ask this so here goes.
Whatever happened to that Salarian ship concept art that you guys posted back in January, is it still just a concept or will we see it in game? I'm just wondering as it was a fantastic piece of work and it would be a shame if it never got included.

Finally people are coming here, praise the lord! **knocks on wood** Don't jinx it, man! Speaking of which, if I may I think the forums could do with a bit of a face-lift. They look a bit bland and it might encourage some of the newer people to post more often if the forums were more attractive. I'd offer to help but I've no idea how to do such a thing. Edit: Perhaps basing the aesthetics off of an extranet terminal if you can find the proper references.

I'll take it up with Yanxa and try and get a link to the forum to be included in the header, although people will still manage to miss it and ask stupid questions (at least we'll have an excuse to yell at them).

I was just scanning through some of the older pics on Moddb and I noticed an interesting question that wasn't answered. Is there a way to may weapons miss their targets sometimes? I'm guessing not easily, but still thought it was a good question, especially considering the strength of Reaper ship weapons.

In SoaSE weapons hit or miss their target according in game calculations. Whether the physical projectiles (the projectile textures) actually hit the target doesn't matter, as the chance that they "effectively" hit or miss is predetermined. I'm sure you've noticed, in smaller space battles in SoaSE, that sometimes even projectiles that physically miss the target still deal damage to the target, and sometimes projectiles that hit the target don't deal any damage.
It wouldn't be that hard to make the ships statistically miss their targets more often. Though, I'm not sure how hard it would be to make ships physically miss their targets more often.

I had noticed that some projectiles missed but still caused damage, but I hadn't noticed the reverse. Interesting. I didn't think it would be very easy, and it's not a great concern, but it would be interesting and lore friendly to see. But maybe something to work on after main release.

The rules with the "hitting and missing" involve percentages and damage dealt to specific craft. E.g. more damage percentage is dealt ro cruisers due to their size and inability to move deftly while in combat compared to a corvette which has far greater maneuverability. I will adjust, tamper and try out a good percentage for each of the ship craft for the game.

I was thinking more of the physical projectiles, or alternate particle effects for missed attacks. But really, I only thought I'd mention it, seeing no one replied to the original poster's question.

Hey, I just had another idle question. It came up as I was watching the old game-play trailer, which was really great btw, loved the new weapon particle effects, explosions and watching those bombers in action.
Anyway, was wondering if the main weapons on ships with the forward facing gun would fire only in a straight line? It looked like they did in the trailer, but it was hard to tell.

Just like in the Halo mod there is an arc in which the gun will fire but theoretically, the main gun will only fire facing forward.

It would be nice if they did, it would help I think, with the use on new strategic problems and tactics that have to be used or overcome.
