Well currently, ships who have a forward facing main cannon have it only fire frontally. Its very powerful but fires fast and effectively. There are also secondary forward facing cannons which aren't as powerful but are still strong and are equipped on all ranges of ships. The broadside guns are being made into an ability as requested by Lord_Set. They wont br exclusively broadsides but they are a minor weapon that helps damage multiple ships across a large area. The GARDIAN lasers fire in quick pulses and can target multple craft coming from the sides. They have a quick cooldown time so fighters and bombers can't overwhelm larger ships with ease. Javelin torpedoes are still in the making but will be fairly simple. Only a few ships will have them ranging from frigates to dreadnoughts.

You guys are really getting there. That sounds really cool. Btw, Javelin torpedoes are default Sins right? So, they'll be Thanix missiles or something?

Javelin is the type of ship. Javelins are disruptor torpedoes mounted on canisters upon the hull of a ship. Kinda like submarine torpedoes.

Also, another thing occurs to me, on larger Sins maps there can be two or more pirate bases right? And i read you guys are using Omega for that (great idea btw) so it might be a little weird have several Omegas. Was wondering if you'll set the map to have just one base and 'really' well defended, or if you'll have maybe some other generic bases like a planet-side Shadow Broker base or something? Anyho, that's it.

We're shipping the game with at least one custom (very large) map based on the galaxy of the ME universe. In that map there will be one Omega but obviously if you play one of Sins' scenario maps with multiple galaxies there will essentially be multiple Omega's.

Will be there map designing mode in the game? I'm sure they will be including a custom galaxy forge if that's what you're asking, if not it's not too hard to change the original galaxy forge into one that'll work with DOTR

This is what the Mass Effect map looks like ATM, built using the Distant Stars Galaxy Forge. Currently has over 650 planets, and that's not even half the galaxy. It will be broken down into several maps (one based around the homeworlds, maps based around ME1, ME2, and ME3, a Terminus Systems map, Citadel Civil War, etc), but it's taking a VERY long time just to get the base map established, so you'll have to be patient. For the Council faction, will ships be organized into subsections for each Council race, like: Turian Capitals, Systems Alliance Capitals (etc.)?

No thats not possible. They'll be a slight description for each ship, that accurately reflects its combat skills and background.
